English for Children Programme

Learn English at an early age and prepare for the future with confidence.

Free Placement Test

The NYLA English for Children Programme helps children learn English in a fun, interactive environment suited to their age and stage of development.

In our programme, we focus not only on vocabulary and grammar, but on developing children’s listening, speaking, reading and writing skills together.

We aim to help children form a positive connection with English from an early age and turn the language into a skill they can use in everyday life.

What Does English for Children at NYLA Develop?

  • Listening and Understanding

We help children understand English through different ways of speaking and everyday expressions. Listening activities develop their ability to follow English naturally.

  • Speaking

We help children feel comfortable speaking English and actively use the words and expressions they learn. They practise speaking through everyday conversations, question-and-answer work and interactive activities.

  • Vocabulary

We help children learn words suited to their age and level and use those words in sentences.

  • Grammar

We teach grammar in a way that suits each child’s level, with a focus on practice rather than memorisation.

  • Reading and Writing

We develop reading and writing skills according to each child’s level, supporting them in understanding English texts, using words correctly and building basic written communication skills.

  • Pronunciation

We work with children on pronouncing English words correctly and clearly.

Children Learn English by Speaking and Doing

In our English lessons for children, we don’t rely on the coursebook alone.

To keep children actively involved in lessons, we draw on: Games Stories Songs Visual activities Question-and-answer work Role-play activities Videos and interactive content Everyday life scenarios among other methods.

This helps children embrace English not just as a school subject, but as a language they can communicate in and enjoy using.

Learning Suited to Age and Level

Every child’s journey in learning English is different.

That is why we shape our programme around your child’s age, current English level and learning needs.

  • Beginner Level

For children meeting English for the first time, the focus is on basic words, phrases, everyday communication and building a positive attitude towards learning English.

  • Elementary and Intermediate Levels

Children are supported in expanding their vocabulary, forming longer sentences, talking about everyday topics and using English more actively.

  • Advanced Levels

Children develop more complex sentence structures, more detailed speaking, reading comprehension, written expression and the ability to communicate in English on a range of topics.

Learning Materials

We use learning materials suited to children’s ages and levels.

Alongside the main coursebooks, we also use additional content selected and prepared by NYLA to support learning.

Through stories, videos, songs, visual content and interactive activities, we help children encounter English outside lessons too and make the language part of their everyday lives.
